Saturday

It began with a discussion about fish at work, and how Cortney (one of my staff pharmacists) had never had anything but fish sticks before. I insisted she and her husband come over for my favorite salmon recipe. So they did. It was a wonderful evening--beautiful weather outside as we sat on the back deck and enjoyed dinner and some wine.
After dinner we went to the Palladium to see Reign over me with Adam Sandler. Excellent. I highly recommend it!
Thanks for a fabulous evening Josh and Cortney....and for the beautiful flowers that I got good camera practice with today!

If you've known me more than a week

then you will find some humor in this website. It is kind of vulgar in its language but absolutely true. Everything The Angry Pharmacist rants about I find to be true in my day to day life as a pharmacist. I thought I might pee my pants when I read "Showers-They are your friend!" I love it.
Seriously. Enjoy.

Clean shelves, productivity, MDs, and Jackson Hole

1. Going awesome at work this week. Three of my senior technicians and myself worked till 5 am Tuesday night reorganizing and cleaning the shelves. It looks so good. We were all exhausted yesterday working on little sleep (I know, not really what those who get prescriptions filled with us really want to hear). Nothing Starbucks next door doesn't cure!
2. I need to focus my productivity. I feel like I've been disorganized lately and not as productive as I'd like. I have been sleeping more than normal (some of you may think that is a good thing, but not I). I need to stay focused. Watch less TV, less time spent on the internet and email. I'll be working on that over my weekend off.
3. Went to our new primary care MD today. He was pretty cool....probably one of the coolest MDs I've interacted with. My blood pressure was 94/46.....I'm barely alive!
4. Mom and Dad Newcom (Ry's parents) are on vacation in Wyoming. They called and had us go online to see them live on the Jackson Hole town square webcam. It was pretty cool talking to them on cell phones while seeing them live. Good times.

Every Day Matters

This is the new trademarked tag for JCPenny. I love it. I think I may have to steal it every now and then. Because every day does matter. Regardless of how bad the day has been, there is always something that matters.

For example, last Thursday:
All around crappy day. But in the end, I learned why being connected with Christian friends matters. They showed me love and support like I've never seen. This made the day matter more than any good day I had last week.

...how did yesterday matter to me:
Because I didn't get the stuff done in the evening that I needed to do (I chose to watch Dancing with the Stars instead) I now have to play catch up today.
But more than that...I just enjoyed time alone with my husband. Sitting on the couch, watching TV, talking, laughing. That made the day matter. Because when life gets crazy it's important to remember what truly matters-what is really important. For me, it's not the emails that need to be sent, the work in the SB room thats screaming to be done, the dirty dishes in the sink, or the questions that heavy my heart--it's the every day moments that I love. The ones that are so easy to take for granted. The moments that keep us going, that give us hope, and show us the beauty of God's love for us.

How has today (or yesterday) mattered to you?
(I've tried to make it easier to leave comments on the blog-let me know if you still have trouble)

Mark it on the calendar

It never happens. Well, it hasn't happened since August 5, 2006. But today--it did.
I left work early.
Amazing, I know.
Blame it on Spring Break, St. Patrick's day, beautiful weather....whatever. I love it. And not only did I leave early. I left an hour and 15 minutes early!
Amazing, I know.
And....(not just that) the morning was so slow that I had to find work for people to do!!!!
Love it! I'm savoring the glorious-ness that is this day.

Now, I'm just hanging out-enjoying the sounds of a beautiful Spring day through the open windows in my scrapbook room. Getting ready to cook dinner outside and have a margarita with our friends Kara & Ian-always fun!
